1. Our Mission
Auggie Medical Transportation is committed to providing safe, reliable, punctual, and compassionate non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) to individuals across Downriver Michigan and Metro Detroit. Every passenger is treated with dignity and respect.
2. Driver Standards
All Auggie Medical Transportation drivers are required to:
- Hold a valid Michigan driver's license
- Pass a comprehensive background check
- Be BLS (Basic Life Support) certified
- Be First Aid certified
- Be CPR certified — all drivers hold a current CPR certification and are trained to respond to cardiac or respiratory emergencies while awaiting emergency services
- Complete patient handling and safety training
- Maintain a professional, courteous demeanor at all times
- Zero drug & alcohol tolerance — drivers are strictly prohibited from operating any vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, illegal drugs, or any substance that impairs judgment or reaction time. Violation results in immediate termination and removal from service
3. Vehicle Standards
All vehicles in our fleet are:
- Regularly inspected and maintained
- Cleaned and sanitized between rides
- Equipped with wheelchair ramps and ADA-compliant accessibility features
- ADA compliant for accessible transport
- Fully insured and licensed
4. Passenger Safety
The safety of every passenger is our top priority. Our drivers are trained to assist with boarding and alighting, secure wheelchairs properly, and respond to medical situations calmly while contacting emergency services if required.
⚠️ Our service is non-emergency transport only. In a medical emergency, please call 911 immediately.
5. HIPAA Compliance
Auggie Medical Transportation respects the privacy and confidentiality of all passengers. We comply with HIPAA regulations and do not share personal health information with any third parties without written consent.
6. Conduct Policy
We reserve the right to refuse or terminate service if a passenger or accompanying person:
- Is verbally or physically abusive toward the driver
- Is under the influence of alcohol or illegal substances
- Engages in behavior that poses a safety risk
In such cases, no refund will be issued.
7. Service Area
We primarily serve Wayne County, including Taylor, Dearborn, Detroit, and surrounding Downriver communities. Out-of-area trips may be available upon request and may incur additional charges.
